In a September 9, 2002 Computerworld article feature, Bob Brewin had this to say:
"A Chester, New Jersey based start-up has introduced an all-in-one wardriving kit designed to help even the technology-challenged sniff wireless LANs. Airtouch Networks Inc. has developed wardriving kits that make it easy for inexperienced "sniffers," or even companies, to look for wireless networks, according to Umut Bitlisli, a consultant for the company...
…When asked if Airtouch has any ethical qualms about encouraging people to sniff someone else's network, Bitlisli pointed out that war driving is legal and that the products also have other legitimate uses, including locating wireless LAN freenets and allowing companies to conduct enterprise wireless LAN site surveys."
An anchor on News 12 discusses how with a laptop computer, a few parts and a potato chips can, anyone can access your wireless network and do serious damage to your personal and financial information . By following basic instructions to make a simple high gain antenna, they were able to access networks of homes and business with wireless network connections. This is called wardriving and though completely legal, can be illegally used by hackers.
The news coverage featured Umut driving through the city and demonstrating how easy it was to detect and access wireless connections around. He talks of how companies can use it to secure their own network, find other wireless networks, such as hot spots that provide free or fee-based wifi(802.11b) internet access, or extend the range of their own wlan.

Umut has been in managerial roles at four tech companies since 1995. In 2003, he was nationally recognized for his work in wireless security auditing. He has since sold his security products and services to various organizations including the Department of Defense, the Sandia Weapons Lab, and the US Secret Service.
Umut was working in Silicon Valley and after the September11th event, moved to New York city where he started a partnership with two other experts. This eventually led to Airtouch Wireless Networks, that grew into All Computers Go and is now known as Tigris Cybersecurity.
